Melissa Rogers, Owner & Operator
Hometown? Easton, PA
What led me to yoga or bodywork/healing arts? When I was in First grade, I intuitively walked up to my teacher when I was done with my school work and started massaging her shoulders. She loved it so much she let me be her therapist the whole year. My second grade teacher humored me as well and allowed me to work out her tension. My third grade teacher told me to have a seat, lol. When I turned 16, my mother gave me a massage gift certificate for my birthday. It was there on the massage table when I received my first treatment that I decided I wanted to be a bodyworker and help people feel as good as I did during that experience.
Top 3 books? The Secret Garden by Frances Hodgson Burnett, The Moon Beneath Her Feet by Clysta Kinstler, & The Mysts of Avalon by Marion Zimmer Bradley
Favorite word, quote, or mantra? "When I let go of what I am, I become what i might be." ~ Lao Tzu “And the day came when the risk to remain tight in a bud was more painful than the risk it took to blossom.” ~ Anaïs Nin "Out beyond ideas of wrongdoing and right doing, there is a field. I will meet you there. When the soul lies down in that grass, the world is too full to talk about. Ideas, language - even the phrase "each other" - do not make any sense." ~ Rumi
How do I like to spend my free time? Taking walks in nature, spending time with my family, gardening, cooking, reading, meditating, sitting in front of my alter and connecting within
How do I begin each day? Snuggling with my kids
3 essential playlist tracks? Music is a huge part of my life…I can’t choose just 3 songs, so I’ll give you some artists/bands instead :) Tori Amos, Maynard James Keenan (Tool, A Perfect Circle, & Puscifer), Linkin Park
Where do you feel most present? I feel most present anywhere in nature. My favorite place to be is with the trees in the forest. An added bonus is when there is a creek in the woods!
